They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us. 1John 2:19

Have been wanting to say this for a long time. The Passion is very Catholic and not bible.
Watched this movie on huge screen TV at a neighbor's house and they had to give me a blanket because I was shivering so badly and crying throughout the whole thing. Even though I was horrified at what could have been with Jesus suffering; even with all that, I saw the unbiblical terrible errors in it. The same errors these articles point out. I watched this movie quite a while ago and was troubled about it, but never expressed what I felt. And someone brought this up today as something that was great. And I'll tell you, if something like this is riddled with error then as Bible believing Christians, we should not accept it as truth.
And as a former Catholic, I can tell you that this is what hit me the most. Mary's part in this movie was portrayed as the RCC teaches it, including him falling beneath the cross. He didn't carry his cross or fall beneath it either. Simon of Cyrene carried the cross to place of the skull where Jesus was crucified. The Catholic stations of the cross were portrayed in this movie.
Because the RCC gives Mary the title of Co-Redemptrix. Mel Gibson who is a Catholic, emphasized her in that light and totally not bible. This is a Catholic movie folks. Did you notice how Mary is shown with blood on her face as Jesus was laying on the ground. This is absurd. Mary was not there. Jesus sent her home with John. This is what Jesus said to John.
John 19:25-27 Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene.
v.26 When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold they son!
v.27 Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own house.
Mary did not suffer and die for our sins.
As Christians we need to recognize what a tool this is for the RCC. Many evangelicals have converted to Catholicism since. It's a tool of deception. God can save and use even something like this, but many fell into deception at the same time. Many Christian churches are accepting the RCC. They are not a christian church at all.
The thing that irked me the most was at the resurrection, Jesus was naked and stood up with his derriere showing. This is abominable and Satan must have gotten a kick out of showing Jesus naked at a glorious moment of victory over death, hell and the grave. This was the most disrespectful, despicable portrayal of the resurrection of Jesus. Yes, his body was all new, but he would be clothed with all glory, not naked. The bible never says anything to this affect at all that he arose being naked. This is Satan's mockery of the resurrection. He hates the resurrection, and always down plays it in false religions. Here's why the resurrection is so vitally important to all of those who are truly born again.
I Corinthians 15:13 But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen:
v.14 And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching in vain, and your faith is also vain.
Of course this movie would not leave out the resurrection completely, just mock it as was done with a naked Christ. And if you noticed, in the movie it showed the GRAVE CLOTHES to the left of Jesus; with him naked. It is Satan that is naked and full of abominations.
Revelation describes Jesus in a glorious way, for he is glorious and worth to be praised.
Revelation 1:13 And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle. (belt or sash)
Jesus rose from the dead and was clothed with this garment down to the foot.
VIDEO: Subliminal Deception 15 The Passion Of The Other Christ
I wonder how many people are like you and I? This is an excellent and well thought out declaration about how the Catholic Church will make unlimited yet so many sly attempts to twist views to make themselves appear as the one true church that follows Christ. Excellent points brought up here Margie. Thank you very much.
Praise the Lord he has opened our eyes to see the truth about all this. Two more movies are coming out about Jesus and Mary too! They are blasphemous! Thanks Ron for your input.
Here's a letter from a pastor to his flock refuting this movie. And I'm so glad to see the confirmation of this, something I've felt all along.
THE PASSION OF ROME: To bring all wayward Catholics Home
THE PASSION - EVANGELICALS HALL OF SHAME
Excerpt from The Cutting Edge Website: This Roman Catholic movie should be the dividing line between Christian leaders standing for enlightened truth and those leaders deceiving their flocks. Let us examine the falsehoods being told about The Passion so you can see the depth of deception in these Evangelical groups who are misleading their faithful followers...
ANOTHER EXCERPT FROM CUTTING EDGE:
It is the Roman Catholic practice during Lent to dwell on the sufferings of Christ and meditate on them through the 14 “Stations of the Cross”. These 14 stations of the cross are supposed to recall the most “prominent events” that took place as our Lord traveled to Calvary. Out of fourteen “stations of the cross”, five of them are out-and-=out lies, and two of them are out of context, and Mel depended on them all in his movie except the eighth station.
Stations of the Cross -- Roman Catholicism
First Station: Jesus is condemned to death.
Second Station: Jesus carries his cross.
Third Station: Jesus falls the first time.
Fourth Station: Jesus meets his afflicted mother.
Fifth Station: Simon of Cyrene helps Jesus to carry his cross.
Sixth Station: Veronica wipes the face of Jesus.
Seventh Station: Jesus falls the second time.
Eighth Station: The daughters of Jerusalem weep over Jesus.
Ninth Station: Jesus falls the third time.
Tenth Station: Jesus is stripped of his garments.
Eleventh Station: Jesus is nailed to the cross.
Twelfth Station: Jesus dies on the cross.
Thirteenth Station: Jesus is taken down from the cross.
Fourteenth Station: Jesus is buried in the tomb” (Outlines of the Catholic Faith, Nihil Obstat: George J. Ziskovsky, Censor Deputatus, Imprimatur: John R. Roach, D.D. Archbishop of St. Paul and Minneapolis, 1980).
Mel didn’t mind adding things that are not scriptural, but why did he omit the things that are in Scripture? For example, the Eighth Station of the cross is the “daughters of Jerusalem weeping over Jesus". Did Mel omit this Station because Jesus says, “weep not for me, but weep for yourselves”?
“But Jesus turning unto them said, Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for yourselves, and for your children. For, behold, the days are coming, in the which they shall say, Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bare, and the paps which never gave suck." (Luke 23:28)
The Truth About Mel Gibson's The Passion Of The Christ - Last Trumpet Ministries
Excerpt from Cephas Library Website: On February 25th, 2004, a new movie directed by superstar Mel Gibson opened in thousands of theaters throughout the United States. It was Ash Wednesday, as it is called by many, when the new movie, The Passion Of The Christ, was presented to the general public. The general consensus of massive multimillion dollar ministries was, “This is a ‘must-see’ movie!” At this point, we must remember that we are living in the end-time, and that these last days are days of great deception and strong delusion.
Dolorous Passion Excerpts
Excerpt from Deception In The Church Website: DITC: Mel Gibson has stated that one of his main inspiration for The Passion came from the book The Dolorous Passion by Anne Catherine Emmerich. He has produced this film with an image of "Christ" that is based on the apparitions of the Catholic mystic, Anne Catherine Emmerich, who claimed to have seen visions of the passion, death and resurrection of "Christ" which were recorded in her book.
Mel Gibsons Passion of the Christ
Excerpt from Deception In The Church Website: The Passion of the Christ is a movie made by movie star Mel Gibson who is a devout traditionalist Roman Catholic. Against all the bad publicity prior to its opening in its first 2 weeks has grossed over 250 million dollars. The anti passion rhetoric prior to the film had the Christian community react uniting to support it. Christians, Catholics and numerous others went out to support Gibson’s efforts to portray the last 12 hours of Christ’s life, his sufferings. The concept of focusing on the sufferings of Christ will become more understood as we review the movie.
