Let His Truth Reign

ONE NOTE: We don't recommend Glenn Beck who is a Mormon, however, on this one he's absolutely right to help this family; and help he has.
EXCERPT: Though the White House says it understands why parents would value the freedom to homeschool, the administration, through the Justice Department, has been trying to deport the Romeikes back to Germany, where they could lose custody of their children if they were to continue to homeschool. In the various court cases, the Justice Department has argued that the right of parents to decide their children's education is not a fundamental right, and it agreed with a German court's opinion that banning homeschooling teaches tolerance of diverse views.
EXCERPT: WASHINGTON — The White House responded to a petition on Monday that called for the granting of asylum to a Christian family who fled their homeland of Germany to homeschool their children, choosing not to comment on the matter.
As previously reported, Uwe and Hannelore Romeike fled to the United States in 2008 after German authorities demanded that they stop homeschooling their six children. Homeschooling was made illegal in the country in 1938 under the dictatorship of Adolph Hitler, and the law has never been repealed, but rather strengthened. In 2007, the German Supreme Court ruled that the country’s mandate that children be sent to public school is necessary to “counteract the development of religious and philosophically motivated parallel societies.”
German officials have been cracking down on families that keep their sons and daughters at home, and have threatened them with fines, imprisonment and even the removal of the children from the household. The Romeike children were taken from their parents for a time before fleeing to the United States for refuge.
The White House responded yet refused to comment???? What kind of nonsense is that? In other words, those petitions mean NOTHING,our voices mean NOTHING.
In addition to all of our prayers for this courageous Godly family, please let us know if there is anything else we can all be doing.
Thank you for your input Barbara. We will keep everyone informed on how this is going. Amen, we need to pray for this precious family. In Jesus name, Father please let your will be done in this families' life. Bless them.
EXCERPT FROM ARTICLE: DARMSTADT, Germany -- German officials raided the home of a homeschooling family this week and seized all four children, declaring that the parents would not see them ‘anytime soon.’
NOTE: This story was published in the Lighthouse Trails Newsletter.
MY COMMENT: This is a prime example, of what would take place if the Romeike's could not be granted to stay in America with their family. This is the saddest story, about this beautiful family; who have done nothing but homeschool their children.
Mike Farris and Wunderlich family

HSLDA Founder and Chairman Mike Farris meets with the Wunderlich family during the Global Home Education Conference held in Berlin, Germany in October 2012.
EXCERPT: Dirk and Petra Wunderlich were reunited with their children Thursday after they were taken by their German government because the Wunderlichs homeschooled. The Wunderlichs had to agree to send their kids to public school before their kids were returned to them.
EXCERPT: According to lead attorney, Michael Farris, the Supreme Court has ordered the United States to respond to the petition to review the deportation case of Romeike family. Farris is pleading for their permanent asylum in America.
If deported to Germany the Romeikes would face government fines and potential persecution for choosing to homeschool their children.
By this Supreme Court action it substantially increases the chance for a full review. The government has until December 19th to respond, but Farris anticipates they will ask for an extension. We need to offer prayers for all those supporting Romeikes throughout this ordeal.

RESULTS? This German family was finally granted asylum in America; a great victory.
EXCERPT: The Home School Legal Defense Association has asked its supporters for "5 days of prayer" that the U.S. Supreme Court will hear the case of the Romeikes, a German homeschooling family that the Obama administration is attempting to deport.
The Supreme Court will meet on Friday and announce its decision on Feb. 24. On Monday, Feb. 17, HSLDA sent a message to its supporters asking them to pray each day this week, Feb. 17-21.
"We ask now if you will join us, beginning today, for five days of prayer? Let's join together and pray that the court will agree to hear HSLDA's appeal and that God will move in the hearts of the justices in favor of the Romeike family," the message says.
I have offered up a prayer for this lovely and faithful family. Maybe I am being unjustly picky, but I find it a bit strange that it asks for 5 days of prayer. Why not just ask for our continued prayer? Is 5 the magical number for God to answer this prayer? It just seems a bit witchy/catholic for in my estimation.
I have been following the story of this family and I will continue to pray for them.
Good point there on the 5 days of prayer. We will agree with you in prayer though for this family. This all seems so strange, that they have not been granted anything to this date. When many, many Palestinians were automatically granted asylum. Why has this decent, godly family not granted a safe haven. Doesn't make sense.
